Electric Winches

I never get stuck! I don't need no stinkin' winch! How many times have you heard someone say that right before they are begging for someone to pull them out of a mudhole? Even if you never do get stuck, you can make all sorts of new friends just by owning a winch. 

Electric winches offer both ease of installation and affordability. Modern electric winches draw much less electric power than the old time electric winches. The biggest advantage to an electric winch is that it will still work while your engine is not running. The disadvantage is that it will only work as long as your battery holds up. Dual batteries with an isolator between them and a high output alternator are worthwhile investments for serious off-roading.
