Jeep model NP231 transfer cases have one glaring weak point. They use a slip yoke on the rear output shaft of the transfer case instead of having a fixed yoke and a driveshaft with slip splines. This design works fine on the street but once you have lifted your Jeep and installed bigger tires on it, the stress on the slip yoke or rear output shaft is often too much. This kit includes everything to modify your transfer case, this kit does require Rough Country's extended travel driveshaft, which helps to prevent driveline vibration and the rear output shaft from breaking.

This kit works on all Jeeps with the NP231 transfer case. Designed with the most current design shaft found in the New Process Gear NP231. This current design shaft was introduced in 1997. Jeep vehicles using the early NP231 can still use this kit, providing that the needle bearings are removed from the stock drive sprockets.

CJ FULL WIDTH AXLE CONVERSION KIT - POISON SPYDER

The Poison Spyder Customs Full Width Axle Conversion Kit is designed to mount full width axle assemblies underneath '76 to '86 Jeep CJ's (CJ-5, CJ-7 & CJ-8). The kit is designed to fit axles with leaf spring perches that measure 31-1/4" center-to-center. This includes most Chevy, Ford, full-size Jeep and Scout front axles.

The bolt-on front outboard bracket locates the front spring perches outboard by the correct amount, while also providing for the shackle reversal. The kit is designed to be used with 2-1/2" wide leaf springs, but narrower springs can be used with spacers (not provided). The front bracket also moves the front axle 1" forward of the stock position to assist in tire clearance as the axle rotates rearward under compression.

The rear weld-on bracket locates the rear shackle hangers outboard and allows for 10 different shackle hanger mounting positions. This flexibility allows for a the use of a variety of spring lengths, from stock up to 5" longer than stock. The kit incorporates a shackle reversal (shackles not included) for extra lift, and the multiple mounting points allow adjustment for longer shackles.

This product ships as bare steel it will need to be painted or powder coated prior to final installation. We do not offer a powder coat option for this item.
