These Full Length Side Plates also provide extra bracing for the DeFenders against frontal impacts, helping to prevent buckling of the weaker, stock tub sheetmetal just rearward of the armored fender. DeFender Full Length Side Plates are CNC laser cut from 3/16" 6061-T6 aluminum plate. Bolt holes are countersunk so that the supplied flat head stainless steel hardware lies flush with the plate's surface. The Poison Spyder Rear Stinger Tire Carrier is the ultimate rear bumper for hard core rock crawling. Like many Poison Spyder original designs, the Rear Stinger concept has been copied by many manufacturers, but none come close to the quality, function, performance and awesome appearance of the original. Built for light weight, high clearance, ease of use and a measure of rear-flop protection, the Poison Spyder Rear Stinger is designed for those who spend most of their time in the rocks and need a tire carrier that meets the challenge.

The Rear Stinger is basically a fold-down spare tire carrier. By pulling the two upper pins, the tire carrier can swing down, making loading and unloading of huge off-road tires easier. Simply roll the tire up into the carrier, secure it with the provided 3-Way Spare Tire Strap, then swing the carrier back up and pin it in place. The main components are fabricated from NC-bent DOM tubing and CNC laser-cut plate steel.

NOTE: This product is designed to be installed in conjunction with Poison Spyder Crusher Corners with LED taillights. We do not recommend installing them without Crusher Corners. Other manufacturer's corner protectors may fit, IF they are 3/16" thick, however it is likely you would need to drill new holes in the corners as their bolt holes may not line up with ours. We can not guarantee fitment with or provide technical assistance for installing this item with other manufacturer's corner protectors. This product is not compatible with stock taillight housings.

The Poison Spyder Trail Cage is designed for those Jeep YJ, TJ and LJ owners who already have the factory roll bar, and would like to add on to it to form a full roll cage rather than installing a complete new cage. The Trail Cage kit is an eight piece set. It comes with two Lower A-Pillars (dash to floor supports) and two tubular Upper A-pillars that are to be welded to the factory windshield bars. Also included are a dash bar, upper windshield bar, and two center spreaders that can be located in several positions.

The Poison Spyder Trail Cage kit comes disassembled and requires welding to install. The Lower A-Pillar is designed to provide a strong foundation for the forward section of the cage while not intruding into the dash or compromising legroom. The Trail Cage is secured at the windshield, at the front gusseted A-Pillar, at factory mounts on the door jamb and to the floor through the forward drain hole. This provides solid strength from the top of the windshield to the floor. The Lower A-Pillars and gussets are CNC laser cut and precision brake-formed for quality and fit. Tubular kit components are constructed from 1.75" .120 wall DOM structural tubing. All tubular components are CNC-bent and laser-notched for a precise fit, and laser-marked with reference numbers for easy identification and installation.

The Heavy Duty Header Bar Kit is sold separately but is a highly recommended addition to the Trail Cage installation. The Trail Cage can be installed with the stock header bars, but those are little more than thin-wall tubing intended to brace the windshield, providing little in the way of cage protection. Our Heavy Duty Header Bar Kit replaces them with precision-manufactured, high strength components that work withh your stock roll bar and Poison Spyder Trail Cage Kit to provide the strength and safety of a real deal, heavy duty cage. The Heavy Duty Header Bars are made from high strength 1-3/4" X .120 wall DOM structural tubing, laser notched and expertly welded to CNC laser cut 3/16" mount plates. For comparison, the stock header bars are made of .095 wall welded seam tubing, withh thin gauge stamped metal mounting flanges. The DOM tubing used in the Poison Spyder kit has a yield strength of 70,000 psi, with a tensile strength of 44,668 lbs. Compare that to the welded seam tubing of the stock header bars, at 40,0000 psi yield strength and only 19,757 lbs. tensile strength. The Heavy Duty Header Bar Kit may also be installed by itself without the Trail Cage, or with other manufacturer's add-on cage kits.

NOTE: A Torx T-50 Tamper-Proof Driver Bit may be required to remove and replace/reinstall the OE windshield spreader bars. These may be hard to find at your local hardware store, so they are available from Poison Spyder for your convenience.

The Optional Entry Grab Handles may be added to the Trail Cage to make entry and exit easier, as well as providing a secure grab handle while wheeling. Also available is a Rear Spreader Bar to further strengthen the back half of the OEM roll bar. Taken together, all of these components turn the Jeep's factory roll bar into a safe, secure full cage suitable for hard-core wheeling.
